“What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger” is something people say to make a person feel better when they are going through something very challenging to experience. However, it is a misleading statement. That which does not kill you can leave you crippled if that is how you respond to it. That which does not kill you does not make you anything at all; how you respond to any event, episode, experience or condition can be to become stronger,, wiser, more present, and more whole, Oh are you can respond by identifying yourself as the person who has that condition or experience, in which case you will have in trapped yourself in the circumstance. It is a choice, and it is a choice to be made consciously.
