New Interviews

Last week (3rd week of January 2011) I was recorded twice by Jonathan Burke of KSW Radio. The first audio recording was a private interview, and the other was my participation, along with Dan Koon, Trey Lotz and Jim Logan as part of a tech panel discussion.

Realizations from taking in this website

Catherine Von Ach is a Scientologist who contacted me to share wins she had upon reading and considering information and viewpoints I published on my website. As you will see, she is a former Flag NOT’S pre- OT. Catherine sent me the following:

I read something by you, an essay about how a person can be audited on the Bridge, bypassing the things that are really bothering him/her. This has definitely happened to me, and I had cognitions for days on you what you wrote. I think you are completely right about this. I have been on OT V at Flag, but am now an Independent Scientologist. That is when I requested to be your friend on FB. Thank you so much for this. I actually did something about this is the real physical universe, and I am very different now. Feel like I handled my whole track ruin. Just had to let you know!
Thank you again for that essay. Also, it changed how I deal with people in life. I realized that in dealing with the person in front of you, no matter what you are trying to do with them, that which they have their attention on could distract them from whatever you are trying to accomplish, or even from the conversation you are trying to have. It gives a whole different orientation on the Non-Existence formula, providing what is needed and wanted. Thank you so much for this — it has really changed my life!!!

Dexter, you are very welcome to post my message on your website. I also have a second part of that win, which is more personal, dealing with the whole track ruin. Gazillions of years ago, my communication was completely shut down, and I decided to die as a solution to the problem. I have roller-coastered on communicating/not communicating, over and over. The actions I took after my realizations from your essay have terminatedly handled that. Because my business, real estate, is based on communication, my money would roller-coaster, right along with these periodic shut-downs of my communication. I have had endless and extreme difficulties with this. I lost, literally, millions, if not hundreds of millions, of dollars, due to this thing going in and out of restimulation. This is terminatedly handled now, and I know I will never be the same. All of this could have been easily handled in session, along with Ethics, if technical terminals would have actually realized that I had attention on this area that had never been handled. Just becoming aware of this through your essay, allowed me to quickly do a real physical universe PTS handling, and I have been flying ever since!!!!! I know that I will never roller-coaster on this area again, will never decide to quit communicating as a solution to problems, will never decide to quit living (and surviving) again, and my money lines are opening up as never before, as I restore the communication lines I had shut down! Thank you again, Dexter, and this is O.K. to publish, too.

P.S. I am in a whole new range of knowledge and ability, and plan to Flourish and Prosper as never before!

Really Communicating with a preclear in session

I thought I’d share a realization- this idea was not new to me, but I have it to a greater depth after listening to a John Mcmasters lecture about power processing, in which he touched on the subject of “communication exercises”:
In TR’s training, when being made to observe another’s “perfect TR’s”, whether through live example, video, or audio recording, a type of contagion of aberration frequently takes place where there is a mechanical duplication of the demonstrator’s intonations, pitch, velocity, posture, etc, as opposed to a true understanding of how that person is (hopefully) simply communicating in the verbal way that is perfectly natural for them, emanating curiosity/interest in the PC’s answer to the question, and/or effortless intention, devoid of reservations, to have compliance to each command given.
When the former occurs, a valence circuit auditing comm cycle is created, which makes for a strained and difficult session, because the PC is confronted by a machine, rather than a live, interested person, and that is likely to prevent the PC to be fully in-session, as it can be distracting, if not restimulating. An auditor who audits this way is an example of contagion of aberration through mis-training. This can also come about through mechanically duplicating the speech and other mannerism patterns of someone who has audited you.
Auditors shouldn’t all sound alike in their delivery of auditing questions and commands, they should sound like themselves, asking and directing out of true natural interest and intention. Their acknowledgements should be appropriate in response to what the PC is communicating, again showing interest and understanding, in the way that the person doing the auditing naturally expresses him/herself.
I think that the term “model TR’s” misleads trainees to think that they should aspire to perfectly mechanically duplicate how another speaks. I think “natural comm cycle” is the idea to aspire to, and to arrive at. I’ve had auditors who were truly in comm with me as theirselves, and as a result my own ARC and sense of comfort was tremendously higher as a PC with them.
I’ve learned, particularly in studying Power Processing, that for maximal case gain and efficiency of good results, the PC should feel completely safe and free to dramatize, rather than feel self-conscious, having any concern that the auditor might in any way not be perfectly accepting and understanding of whatever they are looking at and experiencing in session. That’s a key necessity, that’s being completely “in-session”, feeling completely safe and free to dramatize. After all, the session is for the PC.

Roger Boswarva, long time practioner, on Dex and his 2010 Freezone Talk

This is a wonderful write-up/presentation. A brilliant rendition and application of the tech.

I’ve only met Dex once in the flesh: that at last year’s FZ Conference.

And having read this above by him, I now understand the truly marvelous presence and positive attributes of spirit I experienced when with him.

It was rather startling, to be honest; this because it is so powerfully loving and present when he is “with you.” I was immensely empowered by it.

So thanks, Dex; both for your application and practice of this valuable piece of knowledge and also for the write up.

Life is supposed to be enjoyed, Mate!

My talk to the 2010 Freezone Convention-Conquering Individuation (and video on same page)

Below is the text of my talk at the 2010 Freezone convention. While I’m honored and gratified that several attendees made a point of telling me how much they valued my words, most also commented that it was dense with data and delivered too quickly to be completely absorbed, and asked for access to a transcript copy. As there were many interesting and enlightening speakers, I made my presentation as compact as possible so as to not to take too much time away from them. Here you can take it all in at your own pace. Thanks for your interest and your kind words!

Conquering Individuation

“Case”=”Aberration”=”Downward Spiral”=That which moves a being or group toward individuation

I have always felt that the key ability in this world is the ability to see things from the other person’s point of view. In my power processing, I realized an increased ability to create, or co-create, or occupy, the same space as another, and with that, the awareness that this is a core necessity for a successful auditing session, and to succeed in live itself.

An underappreciated key to great case handling

With every day I spend case programming, C/Sing and auditing, I gain new awarenesses from each experience. Last week I successfully accomplished a major breakthrough for one of my PC’s, helping him to resolve a crushing issue that had persisted through years of intensive auditing with several different auditors.

The realization of exactly which processes would succeed to resolve the particular case issue had its root in my own expanding realization of the supreme importance, in all life, to be willing to assume the viewpoint of others.

One morning last week, before I even got out of bed, I had the inspiration to take that PC’s viewpoint, and in that very instance I became supremely confident that I had that case item, which had been ruining his life for a very long time, painted into a corner from which there was no escape. I immediately was able to isolate the exact route, the precise processes to run. Two sessions later, this mission was accomplished, A truly major change in that person’s universe!

A new certainty has thus emerged to be of great importance: Knowing the PC’s mind in order to program the case. This is simply a matter of being willing to assume the person’s viewpoint, to truly get to know them. Since the mid 1960’s, the stress in Scientology processing has been “the bridge”, a standard sequence of levels of processes worked out to bring about a gradual increase in awareness and ability, an extremely worthy goal, that has worked out well for many. However, I believe that this “cookie cutter” approach can fail to address the very issues that are overwhelming the being and largely holding his attention. This is actually a violation of the principle of the person’s being “in session”- which is defined as “attention on own case, and willing to talk to the auditor”. The being’s attention is not necessarily on the case aspects addressed in the sequence of “the bridge”, but instead on something in particular that they feel they really need to handle first. This is known as a “present time problem”. It is not uncommon the simply “fly a rudiment” to try to “key out”, or take the PC’s attention off the issue, but if it is a real case issue for the being, then trying to bypass what the person is really interested in, to be “standard” and run “the bridge” down the person’s throat will not be likely to produce great results. This is called “auditing over a problem”, and it is a rough patch to find oneself in, for both auditor or the preclear, because the dissatisfaction it results in is obvious, whether or not it is expressed or acknowledged. To simply continue on and on trying to maintain the idea that “as we progress, things will improve and it will all be handled” is known as “going on hoping”. L. Ron Hubbard does explain these things in C/S Series 62, entitled “Know Before You Go”, and in C/S Series 1, “Auditor’s Rights”, section entitled “Going on Hoping”.

I think the emphasis should be on addressing what the individual being needs and wants- the basic Scientology principle of paralleling the mind with processing. While there is value and worthwhileness to thousands of Scientology processes included and not included on the “standard bridge”, it will be mostly wasted and yield disappointment where one fails to parallel the being’s attention and interest. There are absolutely wonderful changes and realizations there for the taking on processes on the bridge, but only when the being is truly ready for those particular processes.

I believe in using auditing to give each individual exactly what they want out of auditing, the fulfillment of their personal goals. How can someone program the case, that is, select the most effective processes and in the most effective sequence to help the being achieve what they really need and want, without understand- ing what it is they really need and want?

The answer must be, whoever would program the case handling must come to know the individual and their case. My own evolution as a being and as an auditor has rewarded me with the knowledge that this is best accomplished by listening to the being, and assuming his viewpoint. That is what will ensure the kind of results he is really interested in. This has proven true for me!

I wish all practitioners and their preclears great success, I wish and intend that for you, and for all those who reach out to me. I would love the opportunity to help you, please feel free to contact me.

Auditor: Dexter Gelfand

Success Story
Mike Horton

Dexter Gelfand was my first Scientology auditor on Life Repair at CCNY circa 1989. I had recently discovered Hubbard’s works and was eager to see if there was anything to this “e-meter” and auditing. Just previously, I had experienced a few hours of “book one” with another person, which I had found quite interesting and illuminating.

Life Repair was a wonderful action; plus, to my mind, Dexter and I made a great team. We completed Life Repair in about 10 hours of auditing. In this short action, we covered and handled everything I was concerned about, was interested in, and wanted addressed. The stability from that action is still fresh and present today.

After Life Repair, there were some hours remaining and Dexter gave me most of my “Objectives” – again, to the highest standard and result.

This auditing was the best I ever had, reaching deeper and resulting in gains that could be termed permanent.

Soon after that, I lost track of Dex for over 20 years, as he left the “church” and my involvement was intermittent and spotty for years after that auditing.

During the later intervening years, I spent close to a half million dollars on auditing and some training – the preponderance of that auditing at Flag. While I had several excellent auditors and some good “wins” during that time, The results Dex and I got remain the best of the lot.

Recently, we re-connected on the ESMB message board and I count him among my best and closest friends, despite the fact that we live a continent apart and have not seen each other face to face since that time in New York 20+ years ago.

The relationship and connection between auditor and auditee (note no caps or jargon) is unlike others; and, the bonds established are, in my opinion, of permanent duration and exceptional power when properly established and maintained.

Dexter has my authorization to have anyone considering being audited by him contact me directly, person to person, if they so desire. He has my highest recommendation and trust.

Nothing above should be construed to relate to, approve of or recommend the organized “Church of Scientology” in any way, shape, form or fashion.

With Dex running the session, you are safe and in good hands.

Insights on a Summer Day

For some time now I’ve been enjoying the benefits of going in session, auditing others, and studying tech every day, and I’ve been experiencing expanded awarenesses in such a constant and fast moving evolution that many things just vanish entirely (as-isness). I’m frequently noticing the absence of masses and circuits, often with little or no idea of what their content was!

I’d like to share a few of my recent realizations (cognitions) with you:

I have eliminated so much GPM and ser fac content that I am now generally able to appreciate every viewpoint, and have little or no need or compulsion to dismiss any being, or the whole sum of their views as being unworthy of consideration. The fact that another expressed view doesn’t seem to align with one of my own is simply an opportunity to expand through being willing to experience the other view. It is not a “threat” to any “stable datum”, aka “fixed idea”. What a difference this makes!

I am now finding, that in every session in which I audit another, as I am applying my willingness to occupy and co-create the same space with my PC, that I experience their own viewpoints and cognitions for myself, and frequently “get” their new awareness just before they voice it! It has become real to me that we are all connected, that the “distance” in and of the MEST universe is an illusion.

I have also gained insight into why any aberration persists. It persists because there is a continuing unwillingness to as-is, and the basis for a continuing unwillingness to as-is, and thus withdraw from any game, is being stuck with the idea that there is a scarcity games, or a scarcity of better games. Rehab a being’s awareness of their ability to create games, and they can let go of the aberrations they are clinging to! (I have attached a passage from “Fundamentals of Thought” as a reference.)

These and many other new awarenesses and changes have come largely as a result of my ongoing co-auditing cycle with Frank Pate, experiencing the remarkable case gains available through Power Processing. Thank you Frank, my spiritual brother!

No-track – no-charge…

Take a look at the State of Case Scale in Scientology 0-8. At the very top is “No track, no charge”. That is the goal. “No Track” includes no “analytical mind”, which is its bank of facsimiles, and operates on associative thought. You might recall from Scientology 8-8008 the 3 levels of sanity- identification, association and differentiation. Association (associative thought, relating facsimiles to other facsimiles), is in the middle. The highest level of sanity is differentiation- recognizing the uniqueness of each being, action and creation without the need of a “frame of reference”. That is the level of no-track no-charge, that is pure knowingness and that is the ultimate goal.

Why we created the analytical bank? In my view, it relates to the Factors, and, after the fact of having become accustomed to locating oneself in space through the use of dimension points and anchor points, feeling that one must have these, and feeling an anxiety of being “lost” (dislocated, confused) without them. It is the liability of entry into the MEST universe.

(With love and thanks to Frank Pate for sparking this train of thought and sharing with me)

Understanding Relative Levels of Sanity, a Variable Condition

The most basic and recurrent theme of Dianetics and Scientology may well be the subject of sanity. “Book One” as we call it, “Dianetics, the Modern Science of Mental Health” (hereafter referred to by the initials DMSMH) is a handbook of how to attain higher sanity through eliminating aberration, the antithesis of rational thinking. In this practice, we have techniques for eliminating the mental machinery that is detrimental to sanity. These come under the category of negative-gain processing-“addition by subtraction”- that is, reducing the negative elements to free the positive elements of such basic abilities as perception, analysis, decision and action. As explained by L. Ron Hubbard, author of DMSMH and other writings to be referenced here, “Negative Gain: By removal of the harmful thing, you can get a positive advance” (Tape lecture Esto 6, 7203C03 SO II). There also exist positive gain processes, in which the aforementioned basic abilities are directly addressed and exercised so as to bring about greater realization of these abilities.

Sanity and insanity are recognized in Scientology to be relative, rather than absolute terms. For most people, sanity is a hazy concept at best, viewed from one’s own relative state of sanity/insanity, and not clearly defined. It is one of the basic breakthroughs of this body of knowledge to clearly define the terms, and in a way that is useful and workable.

"My ideas of granting beingness are changing, and I’m becoming a lot more aware of other people as beings. Granting beingness to others is, looking back at it, possibly one of my biggest problem areas in this lifetime. I’m still sorting through that, but it’s got a lot of potential. "I’m having a lot more comfort in communication cycles, and paying more attention to them. Not necessarily running them better all the time, but definitely seeing them."
"I’m still blowing off today! Whew! Its amazing how much power charge has. it can freeze one in time and make one feel so occupied by fighting the charge that one has no energy left to do the things they want or need to do. I have new energy and want to get involved in projects again."
"I feel energized, I can’t wait to create. Knowing my unlimited power, I will use it for good. I will have fun. I will postulate into existence whatever it is I want to do because it will be good. It will not harm. And, it will include others who are of the same mindset. Thanks so much to my wonderful auditor, Dexter. I don’t think I’ve ever been this stable before."
"I felt totally duplicated for the first time in AGES—no more sec checks, no more crazy wrong actions, no more endless correction lists that don’t read nor wrong indications. Dexter’s not interested in ‘stats’ or ‘getting people up the Bridge’ (because you see, that was always the false promise that was made to me, just do the next action THEN you’ll get your case handled). Dexter just knows how to get a real product."
